Bethlehem
I'm not sure what I expected Bethlehem to be like... but this wasn't it. I think the thing about going to these places that I have heard about my entire life... although it was cool to say I have been there, at the same time it was a little disappointing because I picture it in ancient times when all of these events took place, and obviously it isn't like that anymore. So I expected Bethlehem to be lots of fields with sheep... and really it is just this city. The city is fine, but it is just a city and there isn't a lot to do there.
Of course we wanted to go see where Jesus was born. They build a church on it. The Nativity church. It is a nice church. There was a very long line to go to the actual spot where Jesus was born, and I thought just being in the location was good enough. I didn't need to touch the spot. Apparently there are different locations for different events according to which religion you talk to, but this is the only site where there is just one and they are positive it is where Jesus was born. That is why there is a long line.
Other than the Nativity church, Bethlehem in known for it's graffiti walls. So .... obviously we had to go check that out. After that we were pretty bored and went back to Jerusalem.
Apparently this guy is the artist of this wall. I don't know if that is true, but I got a picture with him just in case. Ha ha

Huh. Too bad there is nothing else there, but you saw some pretty cool stuff. It feels a little sad to see such spiritual things getting commercialized.
