Dan and I tried to sing it to the tune of "River Lullaby" from The Prince of Egypt. It worked some of the time...
I usually write my words and melodies together. I don't know how to do it any other way.
That is an interesting idea to sing it to another tune. I always think of lyrics first and then a tune. I don't know why I am having such a hard time with this one... but I kind of have one in mind... I will have to sing it to you sometime and see if you have ideas of what to fill in where its missing.
What a beautiful song. You are so talented like that! If you ever put the music and words together, I would love to hear it!
