Harry Potter Party

On Tuesday, we had a Harry Potter Party in celebration of the newest movie coming out... TODAY! Which is why I saved this post for today. My friend that helped me put on the Pirate Party helped me put on the Harry Potter Party. We only invited people who we knew were really into Harry Potter. Therefore we knew they would dress up and be very excited for what we were going to do.

We planned a very fun menu of snacks to eat before and during the movie. We watched the last Harry Potter movie to get caught up before going to see the new one coming out.

Everyone that came to the party got a list of spells and a Marauders Map that they could take home with them in the end.

We had 10 or 11 girls come all dressed up. Everyone had a blast. We enjoyed drinking our version of "Butter Beer" (which was a HUGE hit) and there was even some spell fighting.

We set up the table with lots of potions and candles (and even floating candles) and even had the Daily Prophet out. I felt like I was at Hogwarts!

It was such a fun group of girls! So happy that everyone came and had a good time. I love me a good party and I love Harry Potter!!!

Tracy, I know of few people who create and do more fun things than you! I'm not that much of a Potter fan, and *I* really wanted to be at that party!

Ok, so how do I do something like this for my 9 yo daughter? She lives harry potter. She wears her hogwarts robe to school every day. She has covered all her workbooks with new covers that are Hogwarts textbooks, she has a trunk packed, a cage with a stuffed owl in it... I mean, it goes on and on! I would love to do a HP birthday for her- where did you get the Mauraders Map? It would be so fun to have a map for each of them. And, the food...
You are amazing. Wanna help a girl out?

I found the map online. For anyone who is interested... here is the link

Folding it can be a little tricky, but it comes with instructions.

Where did you get the brick wall print?!

Tracy Mills said...

I have the stone wall paper at a party store. I think it was at party land. I think most party stores have different wall backdrops for parties. This was just a basic stone one and then I printed all the Harry Potter stuff and taped it. It made a huge difference in the decor. :)
