Love of my Life

Brent and I have been dating for about 8 months now. This is my longest relationship I have ever been in and the happiest I have ever been. I never thought I would find love and with someone so wonderful as Brent. I never could imagine who my perfect match would be... you know when you go to weddings (even when you don't know the couple super well) you can just tell they are perfect for each other and I have always wanted that. I believe that I have found that. Sorry this is cheesy, but I am thankful for Brent for coming into my life and making me so happy. I just hope I make him as happy as he makes me. The end.

80's Prom

This was a multi-ward activity that surprisingly had a pretty bad turn out for how many were invited. I probably would not have gone myself except I feel like I have to go to everything because I am on the activities committee. So at the last minute, Brent and I threw this together and went to the activity. It was alright... Brent got a lot of attention for his mullet wig... seriously... almost everyone said something to him or we would overhear someone next to us saying something about it. It was pretty awesome. He got nominated for the costume contest. They had people taking pictures... just like real prom. ha ha... here they are.

Roommate Bridal Party

My roommate / brother-in-law's sister, Blythe, only has one month left before she gets married. We have been roommates for about two years... I am so happy that she is so happy and has found her dream man. The roommates and a couple friends decided to celebrate and go to the Cheesecake Factory in Salt Lake area and then come back and watch one of Blythe's favorite movies.... "Memoirs of a Geisha". It was a fun girls night and I will miss having Blythe as a roommate... she has a great sense of humor. We took some roommate pictures at dinner...

Women at the Well

My cute roommate Ashlee and friend Pam put on the Women at the Well fireside for our ward and whoever else wanted to come. They had whoever wanted to audition for solo's, so I did. I also was in the choir. After everyone auditioned they assigned songs to people that they thought their voice fit the song. I had never heard any of the songs before, but they assigned me "Day Of Tears" and I was so glad... I love that song. Everyone put in a lot of practice hours and figuring out costumes and decorations and refreshments, etc... and it all turned out so nice. It was a great turn out and everyone really loved the program.... all the girls did such a great job. I was so happy to be a part of this fireside, it really touched me. I always feel the spirit very strongly through music. Anyway... here are some pictures of the girls that participated and a video of my song (Brent taped it for me.... we can't figure out why it is blurry... but the sound is fine.... except you can hear Brent zooming in and out).

Craft

So I have been trying to think of more crafts to do... maybe just because I like projects and feeling creative and accomplishing things. So I had this idea about decorating my check book. Why not? It always sits in my purse, why not make it look cute. So I did. Here is how it came out.

Easter Sunday

This last weekend Brent and I went to Greeley Colorado to spend the weekend with his parents. We were hoping it would be warmer and more green.... but it was nice to just have a break from our normal routine and get to know Brent's parents more. They are very sweet. They took us out to dinner, showed me around Greeley, I got to see where Brent grew up and all the school's he went to etc.. We did not plan on purpose to be there Easter weekend, but it just worked out that way. It was nice to be with family on Easter since I have not been with my family on that holiday for a while. When I went upstairs to eat breakfast there was a note on my plate....

It was so fun to go searching for an Easter basket, I felt like a kid again.... I don't think my parents have hid eggs or baskets on Easter for years. Brent and I both found our basket's and they were filled with all kinds of goodies that I am looking forward to eating when I am done with my diet.... before I start it again. Anyway.... it was a good weekend.

Floral Design 4

As you all know, I love the floral design class that Melissa in my ward does every month. Every month she thinks of something different and creative. This month we did something to decorate for Easter! We actually did this a few weeks ago, but I wanted to wait until my grass grew so I could take a picture then. So at the class we decorated our vase and filled it with dirt and wheat grass. Then it took about a week for my grass to grow all the way. I put the Easter Eggs that Brent and I decorated with his sister and brother in law around the wheat grass and it makes for a very cute Easter center piece.

Movie Awards

Every year our ward's FHE groups each make a short video to show to the ward... they are usually about making fun of LDS single life because that is where we are all at right now. They are always clever and funny and I enjoy being in them and watching the other video's every year. After all the video's are done, the whole ward gathers to watch them and they have the bishopric judge to see who's is the best and so on. This ward's video's have been great, but the awards ceremony has really not been that exciting. This year I thought was going to be different because they said they were going to have a red carpet and encouraging everyone to dress up. I was excited and Brent and I came dressed as movie stars. When we got there, only a small portion of people were dressed up and there were no awards and there was no red carpet. I was so disappointed. The ward I was in before this one also had the same tradition... when I was in that ward I was the Activities Chair (It is my eternal calling because I have had it for the past 4 or 5 years). When I put on the award show, I went all out, I had a red carpet, everyone dressed up, it was a pot luck dinner we had trophies and I had movie scores playing in the background when the video's were not playing. We decorated and everything. It was awesome. So this year there was nothing to take pictures of except for us dressed up. Those will be at the bottom.... but first, I will show you pictures from when I put it on.
And hopefully, I will be able to post our video that we made..... soon.

Easter Eggs

I always enjoyed dying Easter Eggs growing up. I guess I just have always liked crafts and especially the festive crafts that you only do once a year. I had not dyed eggs in years... so I had told Brent that I wanted to this year. One day when we were at WalMart I found this cool kit to make your eggs bright and shiny. So I bought it. That same weekend, Brent's sister Diane invited us over to Dye eggs with them Sunday night after Conference. It was perfect. So we went over there and had fun chatting while decorating our eggs with Diane and her husband Chad. I enjoyed it, they are a lot of fun. Hopefully we can get together more... I mean we do live so close after all. Here are some pictures of our work or art. :o)Our eggs...... before..... and after.
