What's in a name? Part 2

So my roommate Ashlee... who is quite funny and I just adore, commented on my last post about my first name. She asked "What about your last name?" Why did I not think of this with the last post? I don't know. But here is what I found when I looked it up.

Mills Surname Origin

1-(Locality). Living near a mill. Gaelic, Milidh ( the d being silent), a soldier.

2-Origins: English & Scottish
The name Mills was brought to England in the wave of migration that followed the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Mills family lived at or near a mill having derived from the old English word mylen, which meant mill.

I also found "The Mills family Crest" Pretty awesome huh?
Mills family crest
The Mills coat of arms came into existence centuries ago. The process of creating coats of arms (also often called family crests) began in the eight and ninth centuries. The new art of Heraldry made it possible for families and even individual family members to have their very own coat of arms.

Very cool. I have never seen our family crest!

"Mills" is way prettier than "Hixon" (or actually "Hickson") as far as family crests go.

This is so cool! I had to go look up my family crest too! They didn't have Vonasek, but they had Wilde.
