Confessions of a Brunette on the Internet 346

I already blogged about Thriller and hiking to Silver Lake with Lacey so... let's go from there.

I was feeling pretty irritated after the whole Thriller thing... but going for a long hike and spending time out in the sun and fresh air with no cell service was just what I needed. I felt a lot better.

When I got home from the mountains, my old roommates MacKenzie and Allison were getting together to watch the latest episodes of Blacklist. I had caught up on a couple but hadn't seen the latest one, so it worked out perfectly. They started without me and I went home to shower and go get food (because that is what we do when we watch Blacklist, we get food and Sodalicious to have while we watch Blacklist) and then after I got my Flaming Ginger and some CupBop, I went over to watch the latest episode with them. Then after of course we chatted about stupid stuff and caught up on life. Nice, chill night after a long hike.

Since I was with MacKenzie Saturday night, I told her she needed to go to church with me Sunday morning so I didn't have to go by myself to my new family ward. So she did. We went together and it was weird being in not only a new ward but back in a family ward after SO MANY years of being in a singles ward. Lucky for me, my first Sunday in the ward was the Primary Program. Gotta love the Primary Program. It will be an adjustment... but it is what it is. I will keep going and hope that it grows on me.

My parents were out of town going to my nephews baptism, so no family dinner on Sunday night (which is very strange) but I did end up going to my friend Jaylene's birthday party later that night. It takes a lot these days to make me want to go to a party by myself where I am most likely not going to know anyone and quickly say hi to the birthday girl and then walk around awkwardly before I decide to go home. Well... thankfully that didn't happen. As soon as I walked up to this happening party, I saw my friend Travis who I met through my friend Ty (the one I sang endless love with) who was roommates with Dave who I dated for a little while. Yep... that is how my friends are these days... people I know through people that I know through other people. Like Jaylene. I met her on a hike because Kyle brought her along and I met Kyle in a music video that I was invited to be in by RJ. Isn't it interesting how life works? Who you meet because of the decisions you make? Had I not decided to be in that music video, I wouldn't be friends with Jaylene... because I wouldn't have met Kyle. Tangent. Sorry. After I was done having a nice chat with Travis, I ran into this guy Jared that is from my ward I just left. Funny thing about Jared is that we had been in the same ward for 2 years and we both knew each other... but we had never had a conversation. Well... he was also at the party by himself and we ended up talking for the rest of the party... and been texting every day since. Turns out we are the same type of people. Why we didn't become friends before? Well... apparently I am intimidating. I guess if enough people tell me that, it must be true. I don't mean to be. Anyway... fun night and I am glad that I went. Almost didn't.

Monday I went to work and then worked out with Josh and then I decided to finally go through my closet. That took a while, but since Jared and I had still been texting he came over to hang out and keep me company and entertain me. We had some good laughs. He is a funny guy.

Tuesday I went to work and then worked out with Josh and then I found out my sister Jamie was in town... So I went to my parents house after the gym to hang out with her and the fam. Always love it when family is in town.

Wednesday after work I worked out with Josh and then I spent the rest of the night cooking and preparing for my annual pumpkin dinner party the next night. This one was more epic than any of the rest so far.

Tonight... I skipped the gym after work because I wouldn't have been able to pull off the pumpkin dinner party in time if I would have gone. It was epic though. We all had such a great time and it turned out exactly the way I wanted to. Picture perfect! I will blog about it soon. Stay tuned. For now... I'm SOOOOO tired. Have not been getting enough sleep this week. So that is all for now.

Hike to Silver Lake

I have been up to Silver Lake a lot. Last time I was there, Kyle and I went to do some night photography. The time before that I went paddle boarding. However, it had been a couple of years since I hiked up to the silver lake up the mountain. It's 4 or 5 miles round trip and it's a nice climb up there. First time I did the hike it was Spring. Second time was in Summer... so now it was time to experience it in the fall.

My friend Lacey went with me. She is great and has become my hiking buddy. She was excited because she had not done this hike before. We both knew it was pretty much the last weekend with fall color. You know it's the end when everything is dead except for the yellow. The yellow is always last. Still pretty and I love it, but next week... it's over. In the mountains anyway. In the valley, we will have some color in the trees for a couple more weeks. Anyway, it was a beautiful day... we even got a little hot. We had a great time chatting while we hiked. There are some pretty great views on that hike.

First you are hiking through the trees...

then all of the sudden, you are high above all of the trees and have a great view of the surrounding mountains.

Then you finally make it to the top of the mountain and see the other silver lake. It was beautiful and peaceful. Apparently there was a moose up there too (we heard from passing hikers) but sadly we missed him.

Beautiful day for a beautiful hike with a great friend. Thanks for being good to me Utah!

Thriller - Take 2

First time I saw Thriller (The dance show) was 4 years ago. I remembered that the show wasn't as amazing as I thought it was going to be... that the dancing is rad, but there isn't enough of it.

Well, Hillary got free tickets to Thriller and wanted me to go, so I told her I would go again. Maybe they changed the show. It had been a while, I didn't mind seeing it again... especially for free.

So I put it on my calendar. Hillary had gotten 6 tickets. She was giving 2 for our trainer and his wife and then we were both supposed to find dates. I told her right away I wouldn't be able to find a date, but if she had a guy friend that had a friend for me, I would do that. Long story short... we both didn't end up with dates and were having long crappy day's at work. She was going to give the other two tickets away, but it was too last minute and that didn't happen. She ended up having to go back home and gave all the tickets to me... I went in by myself.. the show had already started so it was dark and I couldn't see where I was supposed to sit. Josh and his wife came in first and sat next to me. We moved seats to where I thought we were supposed to be sitting except there wasn't enough seats. Hillary came back... but she was not feeling it so she went home before coming in... SO...... It was me by myself sitting in between 2 couples. I didn't that I knew the other couple sitting on the other side of me until after the show was over... but man... did I have fun sitting by myself on my phone during intermission between 2 couples. Ha ha... honestly, had I known Hill was going to bail, I wouldn't have gone. The show is fine, it was exactly the same as the last time I went 4 years ago except they took out the clown (thank goodness) and changed up their video's in between shows. I still felt like they were trying too hard to be funny and they aren't and I still felt like there wasn't enough dancing for a dancing show. It was something to do Friday night and it was free... so I can't complain too much. I chatted with my trainer for a little bit, but he was trying to cheer up his wife who was also in a bad mood. Wasn't a good day for anyone I guess. ha ha.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this show again. Unless it was free again. It was good to see Lyndi though (who was the other couple sitting on the other side of me that I didn't know until the show was over because I had never met her boyfriend. So that was nice. Would have had a lot more fun had Hillary come in and sat with me though.

Confessions of a Brunette on the Internet 345

Starting up where I left off. Friday... I went to work out with Josh after work. I always struggle with my Friday work outs... because I really don't want to do anything and I'm so tired by the end of the week. Plus there isn't as much energy in the gym because Josh's clients are the only ones working out in the gym on Friday... so it is quite empty. Anyway... I try and do the best I can. Sometimes if Josh can tell I'm really struggling, he will compromise with me and make me do stuff that I hate less. :) ha ha... so nice right? I think so.

After my workout, I went to the mall with my cousin's wife Heather. We did a little shopping and bought some witch attire for when we go to Witches Night out later this month. We had a good time catching up and chatting.... letting her in on all the recent drama in my life....

I would write about that drama, but apparently I have someone reading my blog now that every time I write something they don't like... they go tell on me. I of course don't know who it is. Heaven forbid this person actually approach me in person and say hey, I read your blog and maybe you shouldn't write that. Instead, they just try and get me in trouble... even though THEY are the ones that are going out of their way to read MY BLOG about MY LIFE. I'm not publishing my thoughts on facebook... if you want to read about what is going on with me, you have to go out of your way to come to my blog to find out. So... apparently someone hates me, or they are just jealous of my life. Either way... I'm pretty irritated that I now have to edit what I say on my blog so that mysterious people that I know, but won't confront me so I don't know who, are not offended and don't get me in trouble. And I'm pretty sure I can't get in trouble for this paragraph since I didn't mention any names or places or exactly what I am talking about. But hopefully the person that did it knows I am talking to them. I'm irritated at YOU! If you don't like what I have to say on my blog, don't read it. Seriously. This blog is for me. It's my outlet. It has been for years. The fact that I can't let it be my outlet anymore for everything makes me mad. Go get a life and find something better to do with your time instead of caring about everything I'm doing with my life.

Now that I have gotten that out of the way... Saturday I already blogged about my fun adventure to the Diamond Fork hot springs with Jaylene. I love that girl. She is so positive and fun. She would be super fun to take a trip with... so maybe that will happen some day.

Sunday before dinner at the parents house... I also already blogged about this, but I took a drive up Payson Canyon. Just trying to soak in ALL the autumn colors before they are gone. I can already tell we are nearing the end. Probably one more week before the leaves are all dead and fallen off. It was a beautiful day and it was a beautiful drive. I really enjoyed it.

Monday was a normal work day and then my usual work out with Josh. I don't know what I am going to do when working out with Josh is no longer part of my normal schedule. I think I will be pretty bummed. Love my workout crew.

Tuesday after working all day and my work out with Josh I went to my friend Natalie to get my lashes filled because Ali just had a baby... so I'm going to Natalie (who Ali trades with) to get my fills until Ali is doing lashes again. I really like Natalie and she lives a lot closer to me, so I don't mind. It was fun to see her and catch up with her again.

Wednesday was kind of terrible. I went to work and then the gym on my lunch break then back to work, and then the gym with Josh and then back to work. When all you do is work and workout at the gym all day... it makes for a long day. I think the closer it gets to quarter end, the more my days will look like this unfortunately.

And today? Well... today I didn't even get my work out with Josh to break up work. I just worked for a straight 13 hours. Fun right? Yeah. I'm pretty exhausted. I'm mentally exhausted, emotionally exhausted and physically exhausted. I think I could just sleep the entire weekend and be happy... but I think I will try and spend some quality time with nature... because nature is good for my soul.

Diamond Fork Hot Springs

On Saturday, my new friend Jaylene and I hiked to the Diamond Fork Hot Springs. It had been a couple years since I had been there, so I was excited to go back. Jaylene had never been there, so she was excited to go for the firs time.

The fall colors were gorgeous and we were stopping what seemed like every 5 minutes to take pictures. This made our 5 mile hike (round trip) a lot longer. Ha ha. But I didn't care. I'm not looking at the time when I am enjoying the outdoors. I had nowhere else I needed to be, so I was just enjoying the beautiful day with a fun friend.

When we finally got to the hot springs... they were a bit crowded. however, we found a secret hot spring out of the way that didn't smell and wasn't as burning hot. Plus it had a little waterfall. So glad we stumbled upon it on accident and claimed the spot!

And of course you know I found a place to hang my hammock. :) Fall hammocking is the best hammocking.

Such a great day! So glad that Jaylene could go with me. She is awesome.
