Festival of Craziness!
I get excited at the end of March. 1- because it is FINALLY spring (although right now it might as well still be January with the weather we have been having) 2- because it is time for the Festival of Colors at the Hare Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork. Thankfully it was a nice day that day (we got a one day break from the snow).
This was my 3rd year going and I love it. There is something about getting dirty that is fun. Out of the 3 times that I have gone, this was the most crowded by far that I have ever seen it. There were thousands! So you can only imagine with that many people, what it would be like when they all started throwing color. Brent and I had both been before, so we learned from our past years and came prepared with goggles and dust masks! I can't tell you what a difference it made. It was awesome. It was also a lot of fun because our friends Nicole and Nate came with us. It was their first time, so they were excited and we gave them some tips and brought some masks for them. I wish I would have gotten some before pictures, but I will just tell you that my shirt used to be black. It takes a while to clean up, but it is worth it. Can't wait for next year!

you have really given a detailed pictorial...it looks like the goggles and mask would help you enjoy the experience much more. It does remind me of scubamonkey..ha ha
Hey...did you see who posted a comment on your concert post? Go to the website and check it out.
Your pictures are awesome. I definitely want to experience it sometime. I've been trying to go for three years now but something always comes up. I'm glad that you gave the tip of goggles and dust masks though. I love the closeup with all your gear on in the red dust. Love it. And I love that Brents goggles are all cool looking. It looks like you had a blast! Love it
That is so crazy! They probably only have like 100 people there that actually believe in the religion.
I really love the pictures you've posted. I think this is the first time I've commented on your blog. The pictures really capture the feeling of what was going on. I love that I was there with you. It was a lot more enjoyable than the first time I was there.
It really was a lot of fun! Thanks so much for making me excited enough to go! Ryan already is making plans for next year!
Whoa! That is total craziness! What a blast! I think everyone deserves a day to get all dirty! It seems like there is always something going on in Utah. What fun!
Yay for festival of colors! We had SO. MUCH. FUN.!!!! You guys are awesome!
Tracy- I'm glad you got to do this once again. You are so fun. You and Brent are so cute... you look like you had a blast. I'm soooo happy for you sister :) One day I am going to have to join you at this festival!
