NCMO?

I don't have anything new to blog about... so I was looking through my dating book to see if I could find a funny story to share. I went on a date in November with a 21 year old. I know... young for me. He knew how old I am and didn't care. I was flattered and he was a lot of fun. I would forget about his age, until he would say things like "I just needed a NCMO, You have NCMOed right?". First of all, I had not heard that phrase in a long time. I had never heard of that phrase until I moved to Utah. For those of you who don't know what that means, NCMO stands for "Non Committal Make Out". My friends would talk about that a lot... you know... when I was his age. And I have to admit, I have done it before.... you know, in my early 20's... not anymore. So I thought I would share a poem I wrote about one of my experiences with NCMO. In sharing this... I kind of hope he doesn't read it (he gets on my blog and reads it from time to time).

What the heck
We are just friends
How in the world
Did the night come to this end?

I know that I was tired
And that it was really late
But I didn't think anything would happen
We were not even on a date

You took me up into the mountains
You gave me a piece of gum
I thought we were going to keep talking
How could I be so dumb

"Wouldn't it be funny if?" You said
I was confused but chuckled
Then you leaned in and tilt you head
I should have said no, but I gave in

Am I going to regret this decision?
Are we going to become awkward friends tomorrow?
What happens when our friends find out?
My life will be filled with drama and sorrow

Well, I'm not going to sit here and lie
That night was a lot of fun
But I have learned from that experience
If a guy takes me into the mountains
And hands me a piece of gum....

Just in case you are wondering... since I was BFF with him and his roommates, I didn't want him to tell them what happened, because I didn't want to deal with the drama. He told his roommates, but didn't tell them WHO he NCMOed with. Of course they were going to keep guessing until they found out. It took them two months... but they did find out and I was lectured by one of the roommates and he still brings it up to this day. I guess that is what I get. This guy that the story is about and I have remained good friends and just laughed about the experience. Oh to be young and immiture.

that's awesome. hahaha. The funny thing is, I didn't NCMO until I got older! What does that say about me? (Obviously not now that I'm married of course...)
