Star Wars Birthday Party

My oldest niece, Reanne, turned 7 years old this week. I can't believe she is 7. Kind of makes me feel old since it didn't seem that long ago since she was born. It has been so fun to watch her grow up. She has such a personality! She is so funny and has always been extremely smart for her age. It has also been very fun to see what she takes an interest in. She has always been a bit of a tom boy. Her first request for a Halloween costume of her choice was a pirate! Not a princess... a pirate. I love it. Over Thanksgiving, her dad showed her the original Star Wars movies. She and her sister Sierra were glued to the movie and have been kind of obsessed every since. They wanted light sabers for Christmas and they know the weird Al Star Wars songs by heart. It is so funny/ awesome. So what does Reanne want for her birthday party theme? Nothing else but Star Wars.
My sister Kristy is amazing and talented in so many way. She used her artistic abilities to create a fun party for Reanne and her friends.

First, my sister painted this Bantha, but pin the tail on the Bantha. She just found a picture on the Internet and copied it. I think it turned out awesome.

Then, each kid got a light saber that my sister also made. They had to go through an optical course and at the end they had to save Princess Leya.
After they did this... they became a Jedi! Ha ha... it is all so creative. I love it. So my sister made them all Jedi tags with their names on it.

She was going to make the Darth Vader pinata... but luckily she found this one so she didn't have to. she already had enough work cut out for her as it was.

Finally, we have the R2D2 cake. Last night I went over to my sister's house to help her make it. Well... she made the cake and I helped her frost it and gave her some tips to make it easier and then I coached her on the details. I think it turned out awesome! I am sure the kids loved it.

Side note. I noticed that ALL of the kids showed up at the birthday party RIGHT on time. I left maybe 5 minutes after 1pm when the party started and ALL of the kids were there ready to party. You through a party in my ward... you don't count on anyone being there for at least a half hour after it starts. Why do you think that is?

Because all the kids are asking their parents "Is it time yet?" every 30 minutes starting at sunrise. The parents kick them out of the house to go. :)

Does that mean that life gets less exciting as you get older? Or do people just start acting "cool"?
Looks like a fabulous party!

single people don't wanna seem to eager to party. It's just not cool. :)

Such a cute party, ps! How fun is that. I can barely frost a normal cake without screwing it up.

oh, well, that is so nice that all the parents were on time with thier kids. I think it is how the parent is. If they are good at being on time to things then they are ready for the cool bday party on time. I have been late taking ava to some parties before but it was raining and i had to stop to get allergy medicine. ... so I need to work on this too, I guess. ha.ha. Everyone else was there and ready to go .. I was the only late one i knew of. booo me.

Now I want a Star Wars birthday party. That takes me back. I have ALWAYS loved Star Wars and was an Ewok SEVERAL years in a row for Halloween (my older brother was always Darth Vader...).
