I'M IN BRAZIL!!!! It's so exciting! It's really really really really really really hot and humid, but it's exciting to be here... exploring somewhere new and meeting new people. I love it. It's an addiction really. I's an expensive addiction, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I didn't think much of traveling with Stacey... just the two of us, but let me tell you what. A lot of other people have. I can't tell you how many comments I have gotten from people asking me if we are dating or leading in that direction. Can't two friends of the opposite sex just travel together? We have been having a lot of fun. Stacey is a VERY easy person to get along with though. We did bump heads once. It was more of a misunderstanding really. once we talked and cleared it up, things have been fine since.
At our first hostel... look at what we found next to the computer! We asked the guy at the front desk about it but he didn't know anything about it. Someone at the hostel is Mormon...
Today is Christmas Eve. Doesn't even feel like it. When we showed up at the hostel that we are staying at, I noticed a tiny little Christmas tree. I said how nice it was that there was a tree and the guy running the hostel said "We celebrate Christmas just like you do"... the holiday might be the same, but it is FOR SURE not celebrated the same. We go nuts for Christmas! And it starts after Halloween. Here, occasionally you will see a Christmas display, but besides that, you forget. It's weird.
Today we went to the beach. Not just any beach, Copacabana beach. I started singing Barry Manilow's Copacabana song and Stacey looked at me like I was crazy. He said he didn't know who Barry Manilow was and had never heard of that song. I showed him the music video which was a good laugh for both of us and it has been stuck in my head ever since. Now he is hating me for introducing him to the song. I am not sure how you can grow up and never even heard of Barry Manilow. You don't have to like him, but I feel like everyone has to of heard of him once in their life. After filming another portion of our music video we headed back to catch the bus. When I reached into my bag to grab my money pouch, I searched and searched and my money was gone. I started to panic and told Stacey we needed to run back to the beach. So we ran back to the beach and split up to the two places we were on the beach to look for my money pouch. For the 10 minutes we were separated, I was approached by SO many guys! I forgot what a big difference it makes to be by myself in a different country and then having a guy with me. You get ignored when you are with a guy (which is nice). Anyway... no luck finding the money. Which made me SO SAD. Soooooo as soon as we gave up all hope of finding my money Stacey let me use his phone to call my bank and cancel my cards and order new ones. So I now have NO money and no way of getting money so now Stacey will be paying for everything for me for here on out... which sucks for both of us but thankfully he is totally fine with it. I just need to keep track of everything he spends on me.
I guess that is the update on me. Life is good. We are staying up late every night and sleeping in every morning and chillin and having a good time. You know what I don't miss? Coming home to this...

Such a bummer to lose your money! It's nice that you had Stacey to help you out- imagine if you were alone. Yikes! So funny about the boys coming at you when Stacey was gone. That happened to me when I went on my own to get medicine for Dan in Paris. A guy actually ran after me, I was so weirded out.
