Cake Balls

At work, all my co-workers give treats to each other for Christmas. I was trying to come up with something that I could make that would be a big hit but not very complicated. So I remembered when a friend of mine in one of my old wards introduced me to the cake ball and how yummy they are! So that is what I decided to hand out for my treat at work. And they are a hit. Everyone has been asking me how I make them. It is so simple. All you need is a cake mix, a can of frosting and dipping chocolate. Any flavors you want. That is part of the fun with this recipe, you can play around with it and make different combinations of flavors. Last year I did chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and dipped them in peppermint chocolate bark. I could not find the peppermint bark this year, so I got chocolate mint instead. Still equally delicious. But just think of the fun you could have with so many different types of cake mixes and different frosting!

Just bake the cake following the directions on the box....

Mix the cake with the frosting in a bowl....

Roll them into balls....

Melt chocolate and dip the balls in chocolate (easier if you let the cake balls sit in the freezer for a little bit)....

Then freeze them again and they are done!

I was recently introduced to cake balls... and I loved them... but I love frosting far too much to eat cake balls on a regular basis.
