BBQ Season

I love when the weather get's warmer for several reasons. One of those reasons is because I love BBQ's and that is when they start happening (well, except for at my parents house... it happens every weekend). Today was the first BBQ of the season (besides my family) and it was put on by my BFF neighbor... which means it was hoppin. He is pretty popular in the ward. The pictures say it all.

Thanks Dar for starting it out right. Hopefully there will be many more to come.

Flashback Friday 61

I thought for today's flashback I would show a video. It takes us back to summer of 2005 when I lived at the Riviera. We heard that the Riviera was pretty happening over the summer... so when all of our friends moved out, we waited for all the new fun people to move in... but it didn't happen.

Mo-Trash really made the best out of that summer, but we had our moments where we would get bored and lonely. One of those nights that we were feeling this way, we made this music video (which clearly Monica was not in the mood for at the time) ha ha.

Confessions of a Brunette on the Internet 114

What a depressing week. Hardly anything happened... on top of that I thought pretty much everyone hated me on Sunday because I was not included or informed about anything. Which made me sad and I locked myself in my room for the next few days because I felt like nobody cared. Turns out... that doesn't help, just makes me feel more depressed and like a loser. I did finally do some organizing that I had been meaning to do for forever though, so that was good. Sounds like I need some Hawaii time.

I logged in the "Draw Something" yesterday and it told me to "nudge" all 14 people that I am playing against. I guess people are started to get tired of the game. I don't play as much as I used to. When I do play though, it is most fun to play against my mom and sister because their drawings are the best. When Rachel actually plays... her drawings are pretty good too.

Best compliment that I received this week was that I looked "sexy but appropriate". I'm pretty sure that I am going to try and shoot for that everyday. ha ha.

Weirdest conversation I had this week was at FHE on Monday. We went to dinner, there were only 4 of us and we split up in 2 cars because one girl had to go early. I drove with this guy in the ward and on the way there he says... what if the other two don't show up? I say that won't happen. Then he says... but what if it does? This would be our first date. Then I chuckle and say... I don't think that will happen, but if it does I would be okay with that too (or something like that) and he then says... "I would pay". ha ha. He is so random.

So this is all the talk between my high school friends, but this guy that I went to high school with, Ben Rattray got voted one of the most Influential people in the world for 2012. That is pretty legit. He started change.org. I was good friends with his little brother, Nick. We were in choir together. It is cool that I know people that have done awesome things with their life... like my Junior year Seminary teacher and friend wrote a children's book that hit the charts called "The year Money Grew on Trees". Oh and when I was in high school, there was this teacher all the guys had a crush on, Miss Baker. While I was going to school there she did pretty well for herself and married Jack Johnson.  Oh and let us not forget my old choir buddy that sat by my occasionally in the alto section... Katy Hudson. Yeah, she did pretty well for herself too. And I have done.... let's not talk about it.

So last night, this guy that I was kind of dating for a while came over and brought his new girlfriend. Weird. He brought her over to check out my eyelashes. Weird. Things in my life just happen to me... it is normal to me. However, when I tell other people about the stuff that happens to me, I realize that it is not so normal. Turns out most guys don't bring their girlfriend's over to their old girlfriend's house that they were only making out with a couple of months ago to talk about eyelashes. Strange. Then it dawned on me... I think my life is pretty weird. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of fascinating and awesome things about my life too, but I also believe that my life is slightly more weird than average. So I asked a few people... on a scale from 1-10, 10 being SUPER weird, where would you rate my life from what you know of me? First person told me that I was a 5. Second person told me I was a 9. Next person told me 7 and the other two people that I asked also said 7. So on a scale from 1-10... how weird would you say my life is? Just curious... because I feel like it is at the point where I could probably have a YouTube channel where people act out scenes from my life and I feel like  it could do well. ha ha. Anyway... I'm just curious what you guys think of my life.... how weird it is.

Tonight I hung out with my BFF neighbor after dinner and shopping with Tina and Vicki. Darrell and Stuart are so funny. I love hanging out with them. As soon as I walked in I was told I needed to get on facebook because Darrell posted a picture and everyone was going nuts over it. It was a cool picture... but I think it is because they are both so popular in the ward. Anyway.... it was funny. He got some pictures of me too, but I am not as popular so they didn't get any attention on facebook. Oh well. It was still a good time. This is the picture that was posted.

Sierra Berra

Remember this post, where I told you my little niece Sierra was miss fashionista even at the age of 4? Well, she is now 6 and has not changed a bit. She even has her ears pierced now. It is so cute, but it is also funny to me because I feel like she is a miniature version of me. I mean, she looked like me when I was a toddler when she was a toddler. She is super into fashion and getting her nails done (she just got to that point at a lot earlier of an age than I did). When I come over she is so excited to see me and comes and gives me a big hug and checks out my outfit for the day and takes mental note. She has bangs like me too. She refers to me as her girly Aunt and whenever she does girly things that she thinks that I would appreciate, she always wants me to be there. I just love her.

Another way she is a lot like me, is she LOVES to get her picture taken and model. Reanne you have to convince to take her picture... sometimes you have to bribe her to get her to do it. Sierra on the other hand... all you have  to mention is pictures and she perks up. She is a natural at posing and the camera loves her. Anyway, since I had my camera to take pictures for my Aunt and since I was taking pictures of Irelyn, I thought I would offer to take pictures of Sierra if she wanted me to. She of course perked up and ran to put her shoes on. We only took a few, but it was fun. She is such a sweetheart and a little cutie.  Love her to pieces.

Sexy Sax Man

A year ago I started to become good friends with these guys in my ward. We got to know each other because we were in the same FHE group. While I was at work, I would sometimes be on facebook looking to be entertained and I would run across stuff that these two guys would post to each other. Most of it was really funny. Well, one day I saw that one of the guys posted this video on the other guy's wall of "Sexy Sax Man". I watched the video and I was literally laughing out loud in my office. In fact, I can't tell you how many times I have seen that video and it still makes me laugh. Needless to say I watched it a few times and started showing it to all of my friends.

Next time I was hanging out at the guy's house, we started talking about the video and how funny it was and quoting it. We decide to watch it again. All of the sudden (while we are watching the video) their roommate, James, comes out playing Careless Whisper on his Saxophone. We all started busting up laughing. I think it was particularly funny to me because I had NO idea that James even played the Saxophone. James tried to teach me how to play his saxophone... and then I would just blow in the sax and he would press the buttons.

We are having a good time and laughing and then the idea comes to me. How funny would it be if we went to different people's house's and delivered saxograms? This is what I love about James and I think one of the reasons why we became good friends back then... as soon as I mentioned it he was like... yeah, let's do it... right now. I love spontaneous fun. Ha! We decided we needed to have him sort of look like the guy in the video. Good thing James has no problem being shirtless. Oh... and you better believe I let him borrow my sunglasses and my black skinny jeans for the cause. People couldn't believe I would let him wear my pants... but I could care less. That is all we needed and then we were off to deliver the saxograms. I of course video taped and it never got old. It was always funny. We just kept going from house to house all night of our friends. The best part is that none of them had seen the original video, so everyone was so confused and had no idea what was going on. It was seriously one of the most entertaining nights that I have had. Thinking about it still makes me laugh. Thank goodness I document these things.

You are probably wondering why it took me a year to post this. Well, at first we put these video's together and showed it at the talent show (Bishop was not impressed ha ha) and I was going to post it around that time... but then James and I had the idea to deliver saxograms to other places like the nursing home. A couple of months later, after James had moved out of the ward I got a text from him saying "hasn't the nursing home ordered a saxogram yet?" ha ha. I knew I had to hold out. We did end up going to the nursing home with the saxophone, but we went on a Sunday.... so we didn't think Sexy Sax Man was quite appropriate and we stuck to hymns. Then James and I started spending a lot of time together again... and I thought we would finish it then. We talked about it, our intentions were there... but I have come to accept that it is not going to happen. It was a good night though and after that everyone referred to James as Sexy Sax Man, in fact his ringtone on my phone is Careless Whisper. It's awesome.

So now that you have the full background story... here is the original video.

And here is the video I put together of James as Sexy Sax Man.

Sexy Sax Man James. Making our ward a better place, one saxogram at a time.

Irelyn's Newborn Photoshoot

On Easter Sunday I brought my nice camera to my parents house for a photo assignment/ favor for my Aunt Joanne. Chad and Clara came to dinner that day, so I told them if they wanted me to take some pictures of Irelyn I would be happy to. With only about 5 minutes of good lighting left, I hurried and took some pictures before my natural light was gone. Even though I only had a few minutes... I got some good shots that I think Chad and Clara will be happy with. We set Irelyn up on a bed with a white patterned quilt and had the bed facing the window so that I could have some natural light on her. She sure is a cutie.

Here are my best shots.
