Sexy Sax Man

A year ago I started to become good friends with these guys in my ward. We got to know each other because we were in the same FHE group. While I was at work, I would sometimes be on facebook looking to be entertained and I would run across stuff that these two guys would post to each other. Most of it was really funny. Well, one day I saw that one of the guys posted this video on the other guy's wall of "Sexy Sax Man". I watched the video and I was literally laughing out loud in my office. In fact, I can't tell you how many times I have seen that video and it still makes me laugh. Needless to say I watched it a few times and started showing it to all of my friends.

Next time I was hanging out at the guy's house, we started talking about the video and how funny it was and quoting it. We decide to watch it again. All of the sudden (while we are watching the video) their roommate, James, comes out playing Careless Whisper on his Saxophone. We all started busting up laughing. I think it was particularly funny to me because I had NO idea that James even played the Saxophone. James tried to teach me how to play his saxophone... and then I would just blow in the sax and he would press the buttons.

We are having a good time and laughing and then the idea comes to me. How funny would it be if we went to different people's house's and delivered saxograms? This is what I love about James and I think one of the reasons why we became good friends back then... as soon as I mentioned it he was like... yeah, let's do it... right now. I love spontaneous fun. Ha! We decided we needed to have him sort of look like the guy in the video. Good thing James has no problem being shirtless. Oh... and you better believe I let him borrow my sunglasses and my black skinny jeans for the cause. People couldn't believe I would let him wear my pants... but I could care less. That is all we needed and then we were off to deliver the saxograms. I of course video taped and it never got old. It was always funny. We just kept going from house to house all night of our friends. The best part is that none of them had seen the original video, so everyone was so confused and had no idea what was going on. It was seriously one of the most entertaining nights that I have had. Thinking about it still makes me laugh. Thank goodness I document these things.

You are probably wondering why it took me a year to post this. Well, at first we put these video's together and showed it at the talent show (Bishop was not impressed ha ha) and I was going to post it around that time... but then James and I had the idea to deliver saxograms to other places like the nursing home. A couple of months later, after James had moved out of the ward I got a text from him saying "hasn't the nursing home ordered a saxogram yet?" ha ha. I knew I had to hold out. We did end up going to the nursing home with the saxophone, but we went on a Sunday.... so we didn't think Sexy Sax Man was quite appropriate and we stuck to hymns. Then James and I started spending a lot of time together again... and I thought we would finish it then. We talked about it, our intentions were there... but I have come to accept that it is not going to happen. It was a good night though and after that everyone referred to James as Sexy Sax Man, in fact his ringtone on my phone is Careless Whisper. It's awesome.

So now that you have the full background story... here is the original video.

And here is the video I put together of James as Sexy Sax Man.

Sexy Sax Man James. Making our ward a better place, one saxogram at a time.
