Confessions of a Brunette on the Internet 52

Did you guys watch the Superbowl? I sure didn't. I don't know if you guys know this or not.... but I don't care. However.... I did hear Christina Agulara mess up.... no butcher our National Anthem. Sad.

I am trying to decide if I should make a new header since I had to get a new blog background. Which... I am liking my new background by the way... its kind of similar to Gypsy. I am thinking... my whole blog might as well get a make over though. Which I pretty much did... except for the header. Yes or No? What do you think?

I was going to take a break from tutoring this week because of how I was feeling, but it got cancelled this weekend anyway. One of the kids stole the key to the building where we hold it.

A few months ago our department at work got our own water machine.... so we don't have to go to the kitchen area and use the tap water. We used to get bottled water.... but then they stopped doing that and got snacks and treats instead.... now we have the treats AND the water machine. So because we have this water machine (sorry... I don't know what you call it) there is a water guy that comes and brings us more water every Wednesday. I have never talked to him, I don't really pay attention to too many people at my work. I stay by myself in my office all day and I stare at my computer screen and do my work and sometimes talk to my friends online at the same time because I need social interaction. Yesterday Water boy came to give us more water and he and some other guy walked by my office and waved and said hi. I didn't even really notice until he walked past my office. However... my co-worker in the office next door to mine noticed. When he walked by her office she instant messaged me on our work IM and said "Ok, he totally likes you!". I'm like.... "What? Who?" she says the Water Boy. I'm thinking.... I have never talked to him before, he doesn't even know me. Then she says... "It was the way he said hi... it got a little bit of a higher pitch to it and he got this big smile on his face as he walked by". I'm like What? I didn't even look at him. I didn't see anything, how did you see that? She says, you don't see it because he has already walked by your office and I catch the tail end of it as he walked by my office.  I just say... yeah... ok. Co-Worker-"Oh! Here he comes! Hurry, go print something so that you can see who he is" Me- "No... totally not necessary". She then comes in my office and forces me to go look at him.  Okay... is it sad to anyone else that this is my interaction with single guys at work? ha ha.

Quarter end was last week. Usually after quarter end we go see a movie. Last Quarter end we went out to lunch instead.... but since we didn't see a movie then, I told my boss we needed to see a movie for Christmas. So we did. I waited all last week for someone to tell me we were going to the movies after quarter end ended. Nothing. Fine... if nobody else is going to say anything or remember, I will. Yesterday I go into my boss's office. "Hey, aren't we supposed to be going to a movie or something?" ha ha. I don't know a lot of people that would go up to their boss and say that. My boss says "Oh yeah! We totally need to get on that. What should we see?" ha ha. Its so awesome. I love it. So today, we all went and saw "True Grit" which is a remake of an old Western movie. It was a really good movie. I think we all enjoyed it. No matter what we see though... its not like I am going to complain about getting paid to go see a movie. I love seeing movies instead of working. Only bad thing is usually we do it on Friday.... so it made today feel like Friday and its not. I have to go in tomorrow. I love our team activities. Our meeting yesterday wasn't bad either. We joke around... we ate donuts and my co-workers gave me paper to make origami cranes.

My one complaint about movie theaters is when people bring their babies to the theater. Folks... please don't do it. Nobody wants to listen to your baby crying when they paid to watch a movie. This couple in the theater today.... it took them a long time before they FINALLY took their baby out. Did you really think your baby was going to make it through a Western movie with lots of loud shooting in it without crying? Think again.

Glee had not had a new episode since Christmas. The first new episode played after the Superbowl. Weird. Then another one at the regular time on Tuesday. I have to say that I love the school they compete against. Its an all boys school. I love all guy singing groups. They have some pretty awesome arrangements. I also loved the Glee club and the football team coming together and performing at the half time show at their own football game. Why did I love it? Because they dressed up as Zombies and did this awesome dance and musical number. It reminded me of when I dressed up as a Zombie. Sadly I just played laser tag and didn't dance and sing in some awesome show.

The longer I have my smart phone, the more I am convinced that it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. All the free apps are awesome and everything.... but I love how organized it makes things. I no longer need a planner. It has a calendar and reminds me of my events. I no longer need an address book. Under each contact you can put their address, not only will it store their address for you, but if you are driving there and need directions, BAM... it becomes a GPS in your car. Which brings me to... I was going to buy a GPS for my car... and I don't need to anymore. It transferred all my email contacts to my phone.... which at first I thought was annoying because then I had a bunch of duplicates of people's names in my phone..... then I discovered that I just need to go under one of the names and put either the phone number or the email address (which ever it didn't have under either name) then it links them together has all the info under one name and gets rid of the other one. If they have a google account already and they have put more info there and even if they have put a picture in their profile... that all shows up on my phone. It really is smart! P.S. I love having everyone's picture by their name. I don't know why. If I don't have one, I take a picture of a picture I already have so they can have a picture by their name. ha ha. My smart phone notifies me when I get an email, it can take pictures and video. I also no longer need a ward directory because I downloaded an app that gives you all of your ward and stake info.... people's callings, their email and phone number and their address... again... it will give you directions to their house. This will come in handy when needing to go to the Bishopric or Stake Presidency's houses. I can store music like an ipod, I have a list of people I call the most, I can video chat with people (if they have the same type of phone I do) heck... my phone even came with Rock Band! I have Pandora, I can read up on the news, It has a compass, a flashlight, a calorie counter, first aid instructions. Oh! My phone can also act as WiFi... which is awesome. This way if I have my laptop somewhere where there is no WiFi.... well... my phone will do that for me. So I always can access the Internet if I need to. I could go on and on. I'm just loving it. Its totally worth the money. I heart you Smart Phone!

I am jealous about your work movie watching, period. I wish my office could do that!! Our boss treated us to ice cream... once. Not that I'm ungrateful! It was totally fun. And I hear stories from the girls that have been here for like 5 years saying that they used to do stuff like that all the time.

That is totally funny about the water boy.

Aren't smart phones great?!

Ok, so I didn't watch the Super Bowl because I don't care about sports, but I looked up the Christina A national anthem debacle and I think people are making a way bigger deal about it than it is. She saved it, and I could totally see myself having a brain fart like that with a song you have sung a million times. And se has sung it a million times, you can youtube all the ones where she didn't mess up.
Ok, if you and water boy got married, what a hilarious story to tell your kids.
Sounds like you love your phone. I love mine too, but it is an iphone.
I don't think you need to change your header, because it is way way awesome. However, if you do, you should create a few options and have a post where people can vote for their fav. And put the old one up too just in case.
I do like the background you chose!

Jamie... I didn't mean JUST messing up the lyrics.... it was WAY too pop for for the National Anthem .... at least for me. But, people have brain farts.... I can give her that.
As for the Header vote, I like that idea. I think I will do just that. Thanks for the idea. :o)
