Confessions of a Brunette on the Internet 38

I can't believe October is over. It's really November? The year is really almost over? Weird.

Quarter End is over at work now and things are slowing down a little bit again. Now I feel like I have time to breathe and relax a little bit. Since its over, we went out to lunch as a department on Tuesday to "Happy Sumo" again. That is where we went last time, but not as the entire department. Not that I mind. I love Sushi and such. That same day we also had a department meeting. Like I said a couple of weeks ago, we switched the time of our meeting from 8:30 am to 2 pm because one of our co-workers is now working out of Australia. Because everyone is a lot more awake, I tend to enjoy the meetings in the afternoon a little better. One of my co-workers needed some entertainment so she started recording different things that people said during the meeting that was kind of weird. I didn't realize how funny it was until she started writing it all down. In one of our contract meetings, these are some of the things you might hear (as we did on Tuesday):
All you can eat (talking about contracts)
Tickler
Looks like, acts like, smells like
Update the Wonkinator
Don't ask, but tell if you know!
Use the force
Yak Entry
I listen to all of them talk about contracts, some of things I know what they mean and some of them I don't. Everyone is completely serious when they are talking and using these terms, but I realized that if you were visiting for the first time and had no idea what they were talking about, it could be pretty amusing.

Also speaking of work, I had my year end interview with my boss yesterday. We have to have interviews a few times a year. I don't mind them. I enjoy talking to my boss. He always lets me know that he appreciates me and tells me how great I am doing at my job and that they are so glad I joined the team and they hope I stay even though I only committed to two years (which will be up in February). The rest of the time spent in the interview was talking about traveling, because we both love to travel. I think this is one of the first jobs I have had where they continue to tell me that I am doing a good job and I hardly ever hear what I am doing wrong. What does this do for me? Makes me want to try and work even harder. Amazing how that works. I wonder why Other companies can't figure that out.

Just because October is over and all of the Halloween activities are done, does not mean the parties and dressing up will stop. Lets just say I am working on a little party that I am pretty excited for. Probably even more excited for than I was with the Pirate party! Its going to be legit. You can look forward to that post in a couple of weeks. :o)

You know what was awesome? Last Sunday we had Stake Conference. Well, it wasn't officially Stake Conference, I think that is this month, but we had a special conference instead of regular church with just our stake, so whatever you want to call that. Why? Because Elder L. Tom Perry came and spoke, just to our stake. How awesome is that? So we had church at 10-11:30am. He spoke to us about making the best out of whatever situation that we are in. I think that is a talk that I always need to hear. There are some perks of living in Utah. I got to shake his hand... not this time, but one time I was on a date and we ran into him on BYU campus because we missed a play. It was awesome. They had the stake choir perform... I have never seen the choir that big before. That is what happens when an Apostle comes to speak to us. I miss singing in Stake Choir. I should start doing that again.

Elder Perry came to SB a LONG time ago too...he was the one who set my grandpa apart as Stake President back in 1990ish...I was 5 and I just remember that he seemed like a giant to me! :)

Yes... that is why Larry likes him so much because he was on the High Council and was interviewed by him when he came back then. He seems like a very likable guy
