Halloween Night

Usually I love this time of year. I love dressing up, I love all of the fall activities and the past couple of years during the month of October I have traveled. 2008 I went to Guatemala and 2007 I went to New York. This year however, I can not be more happy that October is over. I was dumped, got really sick, had to move AND it was crazy busy at work. On a more positive note, looking back on all the posts of this last month, I still made the best of things and had some fun. As for Halloween and me loving to dress up, I just didn't have the time this year, sad, I know. The last week of October arrived and I did not even have a clue of what I wanted to be this year. Between packing up our house and working late hours every night at work... I ended up going to WalMart to buy food and decided to see what options they had for costumes and I ended up just buying one so I didn't have to think about it. This is so unlike me, but at least I was going to dress up.
Friday I worked from 8:30am to 11pm, came home and stayed up until 2am packing up the kitchen with my roommate. Woke up at 9 and we were moving the house 10am. Thankfully we had a lot of help for a few hours... but I was still moving my stuff until 6:30pm. It was a long day. I was tired and sore and did not even want to go to the stake Halloween party that I was supposed to help set up. But my roommates and my friend Chalyce dressed up and went to the party for about an hour. I danced a little, talked to a few friends and then we went home. Got home about Midnight and I slept on Chalyce's couch that night. As soon as I was on the couch, I don't think it took longer than 5 minutes for me to fall asleep. I wish I could say everything was done... but we still have a lot of unpacking to do and organizing the house so it feels like home. We were so lucky to have so many people in our ward come help though. It made it go by so much faster. It was awesome. My favorite text I received that day was from my home teacher and good friend Rob. The text said "Mind if I'm in costume? I thought it might make work go faster". Rob makes me laugh. He totally helped us move while dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow. What fun would moving on Halloween be if none of the people helping were in costume? Ha ha. Count on Rob.

So last year I posted pictures of my nieces and nephews in their cute costumes. I think I will make that a tradition... at least until I have kids of my own... one day... because kids are the cutest in costumes.
Reanne was an Afghan Girl
(Jess brought this back for Reanne when he was in Afghanistan for a year)

Sierra was a witch
(Kristy made this costume a couple years ago)

Grant was a monkey

Asher was Dash from Incredibles
(Jamie made the costume THAT day)

William was a Penguin
Lori decided to do a family themed costumes. (I am totally doing family themed costumes when I get married and have kids) Billy was Bert and Lori is Mary Poppins! Don't they look awesome! Lori made her costume and Billy's costume.

And I know you have been dieing to know what costume I purchased at WalMart..

I was ....

A Peacock

I was going to try and make the costume more cool by doing neat make up that I found online. But lets be honest... I did not have the energy, the right tools or make up to make this happen... only good intentions. Oh well. You get the idea.

I think you looked fabulous... and you are an inspiration to me. You are always looking up and I love and admire you.
I think Logan moved on Halloween once. I thought it was crazy at the time. Well, I guess I still think it is crazy, but you gotta do what you gotta do. So nice that you had friends there to help.

You look absolutely beautiful as a peacock! I can't believe you found that right before Halloween. As far as the month goes...like I've told you before...you are seriously one of the most inspiring people I know and your gift to look at things from a positive perspective is incredible. Love you!
