To My Mama
Happy Mothers Day!
My mom is where I got my love of music. My mom played piano and guitar... so I wanted to too... and she taught me. We sang together a lot... along with my sisters. It's some of my favorite memories with my mom and sisters.
My mom taught me the importance of a clean house (which I SO appreciate and am convinced that a lot of mothers out there have failed teaching their kids this important thing). My mom taught me this by always keeping our house clean growing up. Also, when we were little she sewed us girls aprons with two pockets... one with a list of chores we needed to do and the other pocket had candy we got to have when we were done. I don't think we even kept that system for very long, but I will never forget it.
My mom is where I got my love for nature.
My mom taught me how to sew, she let me experiment in the kitchen when I was curious about cooking as a child... even though it wasn't going to turn out well. Now I'm a pretty decent cook.
My mom has a solid testimony and by example has always taught me to stay faithful and strong and turn to the Lord.
My mom is patient and kind. She has never pressured me to take a certain path in life. Whatever I have wanted to do, she has always been there to love and support me. When I'm having a hard time, she is there for me to talk to for as long as I need and support me in the way I need. She is thoughtful. She has a love of learning which I think I also got from her. I may not do it as much in the form of books as she does, but I enjoy learning new things.
My mom really is so great. Life is sweeter with her in it. I'm blessed that I get to have her as my mom. Happy Mothers day Mom! Thanks for always having my back. I love you!

Wonderful tribute to your mom! Moms are great like that....teaching us so many things that, at the time, we don't know are life lessons.
Wow, what a wonderful thing to read. It's like I'm having a second Mother's Day today! Thanks Tracy ... You are an amazing person to have as my daughter. It certainly was easy to raise you, I can't remember one bit of trouble you ever caused. You just made it easy to be a mom all the time. And you still do! I love everything about you!!
Amen! Mom is the best.
