This morning was SCARY!!! It was freezing rain. I think this is the first time I have ever experienced it, so it threw me off guard. I slipped and almost fell as soon as I walked out on my back patio this morning on my way into work. It was weird because it was a little warmer than it normally is and I felt rain drops. I figured that was a good sign... it meant things were going to start melting. And things were... but they were also freezing. What the... So my back patio was literally a thin sheet of ice. I just couldn't tell until I stepped on it. So then I get in my car and start to drive and I'm slipping around on the road. I'm about to leave the neighborhood and get on the main road and notice when I break my car was still sliding... so I turned into the curb to stop my car. This is when I knew it was going to be a scary ride. The rest of my drive was not too slippery... however the rain drops kept coming down and as soon as they would hit my windshield, they would freeze and I wouldn't wipe them off with my windshield wipers. It didn't take long before my whole windshield was just a sheet of ice and I couldn't see out of it anymore. This is when I started to get nervous. I had my defrost blasting and it cleared it up just barely enough by to get me to work. Freezing rain scares me... and I didn't even get the worst of it. There were SO many car accidents today. My co-worker Ron, his car spun around twice into on-coming traffic. It was a miracle he didn't get hit (thank goodness too since he recently had back surgery) but after he got back on the rode... he saw 7 car accidents on his way to work from Orem to Provo. Life should be put on hold if there is freezing rain I have decided. Not okay.
The fort was up for two weeks. We had our Fort Finale on Sunday night. It went out with a bang. We announced it at ward prayer and lots of people came over (mostly guys) and we watched Ninja Warrior in the fort. It was pretty awesome. Ninja Warrior is pretty fun to watch... especially with a crowd. Turns out a guy in my ward is going to try and be on Ninja Warrior. Who does that? After everyone left, my friends Liz and Steph had a sleep over with me in the fort.... just like they did this summer. I loved it. There is something very comforting about the fort. I miss it already.
This week I had some left overs of the crock pot meal that I made and I shared it with my co-worker Lauren not knowing that she wouldn't have any lunch that day. Since I did that, last night she text me and told me that she was making soup and rolls and would have left overs and that she would bring me some today. She did and it was SO GOOD! I am liking this set up. Maybe we will keep it up and keep cooking for each other and bringing each other lunch. I love working with Lauren, she is my favorite.
I'm in trip planning mode. I mean, I guess I am always day dreaming of places I want to go and looking for deals and trying to convince people to travel with me. However, I'm in serious trip planning mode right now because it is so cold. Seriously... I feel the need to get away when it is so cold for so long because I start to get depressed and I need something to make me happy. Hopefully that is not a bad thing. I have a couple of trips in the works. Looking into it today was getting me really excited.
I tried another new recipe. Yesterday was my first attempt at making Indian Food. Of course to start off with I made Chicken Tikka Masala. I love Indian food, so I am surprised it took me so long to try and make it. I guess it always intimidated me because I figured it was hard to make with all of the different spices. It wasn't too hard though. I will make it more mild next time for sure though. It was a little on the spicy side. Still so good though. I will make it again. I love Indian food. I could seriously eat it once a week and be happy. I'm loving trying all these new recipes. I will have to blog about this one and try more!
You know how I made the goal to do more things that I pin on pinterest? Well... I have a board on pinterest called "OCD" for all things that have to do with cleaning and organizing (mostly organizing). Anyway.... I saw this one thing on there where someone used plastic place mats in their fridge to help keep it clean and it happens to look super cute too... so I decided to do it. I realized after that I should have gotten thinner mats and that I also could have found cuter mats that matched the kitchen better... but these turned out pretty cute too. Anyway... I cleaned out the fridge and put these mats in and I like it. I may change them in the future, but for now, this is good.

Is one of your serious trips to SB? :)
You have a lot of eggs in your frig! I like the mat idea, it looks cute.
That rain sounds really aweful! Glad you made it to work safe!!
Love you.
I love your fridge, and on freezing cold days you should wear spiky cleats so you can't slip! Tie a bunch onto your tires as well. I'm sure that will totally fix everything.
