Capitol Reef National Park

It was time for the first camping of the season! Becky and I had never been to Capitol Reef National Park, so we wanted to start there. We knew the weather was going to be on and off rainy... but we decided to go regardless of what the weather threw at us. As it turns out... it was very bipolar the entire drive there, but that night there was not a cloud in the sky and the stars were unbelievable.

The next morning we had until around noon until we saw the storm clouds coming in. It was when we got to Cassidy Arch (which was really awesome by the way) that it started to hail. We hiked back in the rain and by the time we got back to the car... it was sunny again. It was a 3 mile hike round trip.  After that we did another small 1 mile hike through a slot canyon (big one). It was pretty chill.

After that we stopped somewhere to eat and went home. It was a short trip, but a fun one. Nice to get out of town and go camping somewhere beautiful. ALSO... I have now been to all 5 National Parks in Utah. Very excited about that. There is a lot more of Capitol Reef to explore though... so I will need to go back sometime. I don't see that being a problem though. :)
