Confessions of a Brunette on the Internet 152

It warmed up this week. It has been in like the 20's. Sad that I now think that is warm after having a week where it didn't get above 10 degrees. This morning the snow had started to melt, I didn't need to bundle up as much... it didn't hurt being outside more than 2 minutes and the big fog clouds of gross air went away. All in time for it to start dumping snow again.

I have also been sick this week. Along with having a cold, I got an ear infection. I seem to get a lot of those these days. Last time I went to the Dr. I had to pay for the doctor visit and then pay for nasal spray and ear drops and antibiotics. This time... I wanted to see if there was something that I could do without having to go to the Dr. So I went online to see if there was something else I could do. I found out that using garlic oil would do the trick... so why not give it a try? I mixed oil and garlic and heated up last night... let it cool to room temperature and then put some on a q-tip and put it on my ear. I used it last night, this morning and when I got home from work. Guess what? It works! My ear is already not hurting anymore. Almost all better. Who knew? Stuff I have in my house. My roommates thought it was weird... but whatever works. ha ha.

Went to Karaoke last night (Kar-wing-oke as Dave calls it) at Wing Nutz. Dave and I got a big group together this time. It was so fun. It is such a fun crowd. Mr. Karaoke was there. Last time we tried singing "Time of our lives" and it was a disaster. Well... we went back to redeem ourselves on "Endless Love" this time... we nailed it! He totally got his part. We were so happy. Everyone was yelling at him to kiss me... so at the end, he dipped me and gave me a big smooch... on the cheek. It was kind of cute. The crowd loved us. We will have to do it again sometime. It had been too long since we had gotten the group to go karaoke.

My roommate gave me her iphone. I'm pretty excited about it since my phone is pretty much garbage and I pretty much can't use it unless it is plugged in. I had to get it unlocked though. Today I was on hold waiting for AT&T for like 20 minutes. However... I now have an unlocked iphone. Soo.... now I just need to take it in to T-Mobil and have them transfer everything over. Pretty excited about it, especially since it was free. Thanks Meg!

Tuesday was a pretty exciting day at work. I signed up to be an extra in a movie for work. 9 am I had to meet on the 8th floor for make up. I had my make up done by a lady who does make up for movies and magazines. Kind of fun... except that I felt like Krusty the Clown. I didn't realize I would be getting so much make up done for being an extra. We waited around for HOURS! They fed us lunch. We got a free cool water bottle. We waited around all morning and the beginning of the afternoon for maybe 10 minutes of filming. I wonder if I am even in the video. I was mostly ducking as the camera went over my head. It was fun all the same. We got to work with Scott Christopher. He is in all the Mormon movies. Nice guy. Anyway... I felt legit. If I really make it into the video... I will post it on my blog. While searching for another Novell video, I ran into another video that I am in. Maybe I will post that one too. ha ha.

My roommates and I went to the BYU basketball game last Thursday and then on Saturday we went to the Men's volleyball game. Both dominated. Love hanging with my roommates.

I am on the 6th season of 24. I slowed down a little bit during Christmas since my family was all here. I might slow down again because I may watch the 3rd season of Downton Abbey before I watch more 24. We shall see.

I was just introduced and started using Spotify. I'm a little behind apparently. It will be a great way to have all of my music everywhere!!! I love technology.

I set up the fort again. It is the first bi-annual fort week. Dave's idea. This time there is a tunnel that you have to crawl through in order to get into the fort. Most people take the short cut, but it is still awesome. :) I will have to post more about that when it is all over.

On Sunday we had a fireside from our stake presidency. About service. It was amazing. It made me think more about one of my goals for this year... finding a place in the community to serve. I need to get on that ASAP.

Last Friday a big group of us got together to play laser tag. It was fun... but it was probably the worst game of laser tag I have ever played. Oh well. We all had a blast.

I've been sick all week too. I hope I didn't give it to you! Glad you got some fun outings in even when you have garlic in your ear. :)

Wow. You lead a full life, Tracy Mills. And was Dave yelling at you to kiss Mr. Karaoke? That would be awkward. Glad you nailed your song. Cool about being an extra. That is something I always thought I would do, but have never done.
