I don't know if you know this or not... but I have really amazing, outstanding and accomplished friends. You know the boys.... the ones I have been friends with for the past 9 years? Well... Nate graduated from law school and has taken the bar and passed in like 3 different states or something like that. Brad and Steve just graduated from Harvard Business school. After Steve graduates what does he do? Climbs Mount Everest. No big deal! Oh, and did I mention he made it into Deseret News? You can read about that here. It seriously makes me wonder how I got accepted into that circle. I'm being totally serious. They have all always thought I am so awesome... and I'm not sure why and how I earned that. I don't think I will ever be able to live up to them.
At Institute yesterday, I wore these bright pink pants. My old roommate's (Megan) cousins were there and while I was standing there talking to someone else... they had a 5 minute conversation about my pants. They of course told me about it when I came to say hi. The conversation was about what color they are. Conversation is happening between brother and sister. One of them says it is the color salmon. The other says a little bit of a corral because they are so bright. After talking about it for a bit, they decide the name of the color of my pants is called "salmon amongst the corral". I loved it. I told them they should make up color names.
I finished "Revenge" (well... of what has aired so far) and now I am watching "Fringe". I think I am half way done with the 1st season (started the other day). I knew I would like it because #1 it is JJ Abrams and he is awesome. #2 because it is a lot like the X Files and I seriously loved that show. So far... I'm liking it. I have liked most shows that have been recommended to me though. Good thing people just keep telling me which shows to watch... because I sure go through them fast.
Post half marathon... I could barely walk day of, worse the next day and not much better the day after that... even with all the stretching I was doing and trying to walk it out. I felt like an old woman and I really struggled going up and down the stairs. Monday when I went to work I didn't feel like doing anything. When my co-worker went to the gym, I went with her. Not to work out... that would have been silly and the last thing I would have wanted to do since I could barely move. No, I went with her to the gym so that I could use the foam roller. I knew it was going to be painful, but I knew I needed to do it. Have you ever used one of those things? It's like a painful deep tissue massage that you have complete control over. I used that foam roller for a good 40 minutes (along with stretching). It hurt like a curse word. I almost cried a couple of times. However... I fought through the pain and continued to roll out every inch of my legs, butt and back. The rest of the day I felt the same and drank a ton of water. Guess what though? The next day, I felt fine. I was a tiny bit sore... but I could walk fine again and go up and down the stairs just fine. It was a miracle! ha ha. It doesn't even feel like I ran a half marathon less than a week ago. It's awesome. I even went to Pilate's yesterday and worked out my core and was able to do it all. Our bodies are awesome! They really are capable of amazing things.
Speaking of... ever since I started my diet, I have such a testimony of health! I just want to preach it to the world and help everyone become healthy. I can't believe that I am going to say this... but I am kind of glad that I have always struggled with my weight, because I think it has forced me to care about my health more so than if I was just naturally skinny. I have had to fight food and the gym to be healthy and try and be healthy and lose weight. Guess what? I appreciate it that much more.
Speaking of weight loss. I weighed myself this week. I have lost 22 pounds and 5 inches total. 6 pounds since I have weight myself last (which had been a couple of weeks). Now my health coach doesn't want me to do any exercise and she thinks I will lose weight faster... now that I am done with my half marathon, I have no problem quitting my cardio for a while. I hope she is right. I want to lose this weight ASAP. That being said... even though I still have lots more to lose, I feel great! For the first time in a while, I am starting to feel thin and I am happy where I am at. All my clothes fit again... I just feel awesome... and I love that. This whole journey has been worth it so far... so I know I will be so happy in the end that I did it... and I will probably become a health coach, because I think I will be good at it.
Saturday I went out with a guy. After we went to his house. First thing I noticed when we walked into his place... it smelled and it was dirty and cluttered. Not impressed. Then he showed me all of his critters. Trust me when I say that I like animals and critters and all that jazz... but when you are single and live in apartment... I mean, just work at the pet store or something. This guy had like 3 different kinds of snakes, different types of frogs, lizards... he even had a scorpion. I was kind of grossed out and I think critters are cool. It is pretty safe to say that I will not be going out with this guy again.
Friday, I was trying to go to bed early (like 10) because I knew that I had to get up at 3am for my half marathon the next day. Anyway... I kept getting phone calls and messages from people and didn't end up going to bed until 11:30. Around 11, one of the phone calls I received was from 22 year old Alexander (who goes by Xander) calls me. I was on the other line or in the other room. So he left a message. Curious of what the message said? I was. Well... he said he was just thinking about Mango's and how good they are and remembered I went to India and that they probably have good mangoes there and wanted to know if I ate them and if they were really good... and to make sure I called him back to tell him. Ha ha. So random. He is so funny... and young and innocent. He is the ward puppy dog. Here is me and Xander.

I have a foam roller at home :) They are amazing and painful... good for you to work through the pain! I'm glad that you are feeling so healthy and great!! Love you :)
I've never even heard of a foam roller. Why are they so painful if they are made of foam? I'm glad everything is going so well for you. Love you.
Xander is an excellent name for a super villain. But he looks nice. But... that is how they get you.
I have felt that "old woman" feeling before. NOT FUN. And seriously... Don't know if I should work out for a while if it is going to make me SKINNIER.
