Josh Groban Take 2

So this one time my mom gave me a Josh Groban CD for Christmas... it was his first CD. Back before Josh Groban was really big... Yeah... I fell in love with him. Ok, maybe just his voice. Either way, I'm a fan. I own all of his music and went to my first Josh Groban concert 2 years ago. After that concert... I loved it so much that I told myself that I would for sure go to his concert again.

Well... he came out with another CD (All that Echoes) which means he went on tour again and I bought tickets in August. I knew my mom and sister would love it too... so I bought tickets for them as well. We were all excited. Well... the concert was on Friday night. We took the Front Runner to SLC to the Energy Solutions Arena and waited for the concert.

*This is probably as close to Josh Groban as I will ever get (me standing next to a picture) although I would LOVE to go on a date with him. A girl can dream.

A singer named Judy Hill opened for him. I had never heard of her. I liked a few of her songs... but overall, she wasn't really my style. THEN Joshy finally came out! Oh.... he was just flawless as always. Also entertaining and charming and funny and all around classy. He did Q & A again... but not as many as last time. Also didn't bring anyone up on stage this time.

Something I loved about this concert vs the last was the stage set up. Usually the stage is on one side of the arena and they fill the bleachers from top to bottom. This time, he had a big round stage in the middle of the floor so there was no one front row... they didn't even sell ticket's to the top bowl. They put more of the bleachers away to have more floor seating. It was a lot more intimate and I felt like I was a lot closer even though I got the "cheap" tickets. I loved it. It also had a lot of really rad lighting. Although the stage was round and he walked around a lot, I still feel like we got the better side. Our side was the side the piano was on and the side his drums were on (for when he played). It was awesome.

He sang most of my favorites off old CD's and only one repeat from the last concert (You Raise Me UP). I loved how he turned one of my favorites (Remember When it Rained) into a duet! He had 3 encore songs. The last one was such a perfect song to end on and a cover song that I really love. Smile.

All in all, the concert was amazing and I loved every minute of it. I hope my mom and sister felt the same way. I know they enjoyed it. Interesting facts... The orchestra and choir were actually from SLC. They get a local orchestra and choir in every city they go to. ALSO the choir director was from Santa Barbara. :) Another fun fact that I didn't know before... is that SLC has a special place in Joshy's heart. Why? Not only is it always a good crowd so they have done live recordings here. He of course also sang at the Winter Olympics here but I also found out that the energy solutions arena is the first arena Josh Groban ever played at. Pretty cool huh? Anyway, if I can... I will go to see Josh every time he comes to town. He is amazing. Thanks for a great show Joshy! And thanks to my mom and sister for coming with me.

I'm so glad you got "smile" from YouTube. I've been thinking about that song ever since he sang it! So beautiful.

How fun! I would have been sad at the lack of Kanye West's tweets being sung, but whatever.
