Masada is an ancient fortification in the Southern District of Israel situated on top of an isolated rock plateau, akin to a mesa. It is located on the eastern edge of the Judaean Desert, overlooking the Dead Sea 20 km east of Arad. Such an awesome place to see with such incredible views!
They have a cable car that goes up there... or you can hike. We didn't have enough time to hike up and down, so we decided to take the cable car up and hike down. Smart choice. It ended up getting hot and I think hiking up would have been miserable honestly. I enjoyed the cable car ride up. The views are so good! We ran around and saw as much as we could with the time that we had. It's a pretty cool place. Always cool to see some old ruins.
