Back in November, I started giving you a tour of the townhouse that I live in. I showed you the
Living Room, the
Kitchen, and
my room. Well, I am now happy to say that I love the look of my bathroom as much as my room now! I was holding out to show it to you because I knew I wanted to do something more with it. Back in September I was at my friend Aileen's house and in her bathroom I saw the cutest shower curtain ever. She made it, but the idea is from Anthropology. Look at them
here. I have been lacking in the craft department lately... I was doing pretty well thinking of craft idea's in the summer... and then my inspiration was running dry. My friend told me they were a pain in the butt to make, but I knew I wanted it to be my next craft project. With the help of my sister Kristy, my shower curtain was completed last week! I love it. If you clicked on the link to see the Anthropology shower curtain, you would have seen that to buy it would cost you $118! The cost of mine? The cost of two queen size bedsheets. I maybe spent $30. I don't actually remember. Also... the beauty of doing it yourself is that you can pick your own color. So I love how it turned out. The only thing that my sister and I noticed AFTER it was all done... the two sheets we used are slightly different color's. In the light we were working in, you couldn't tell at all. But in the light of the bathroom... you can tell. I don't care. I still love them.
If you want to take on the project... it takes longer than you think it will, BUT it was worth it for me. Not difficult, just time consuming. If you want to take on the project, let me know and I will either call you or email you with the process.
Other things I love about my bathroom? There is a little bit of home and travel in there. For example, look at this cute Candle holder (My friend Lolly helped me put this together when I moved out for the first time) the sand holding the candle in place is sand I took from a beach back home in Santa Barbara, California. The little shells on top are shells that I collected while my sister and I were back packing in Costa Rica. We collected off of every beach we visited. So not only is it cute decoration.... but its also a room of memories. I'm so sentimental.
Here is another view of the bathroom. Other things you will find in the room are pictures of my family in Hawaii and other collectibles from Hawaii, a bowl from Nicaragua, more collected shells, if you look in the mirror you will see a shelf that has collectibles from these places, plus a picture that my good friend Monica painted for me. I guess I like to feel like I can be near the beach even when I am nowhere near it. :o)
P.S. I am going to try and do crafts a little more often, so stay tuned for the next project.

you've got a mighty fine bathroom. a job well done, pal.
I am LOVING your shower curtain. And I like the two different colors. I love Anthropologie, but it is crazy expensive, so good work duplicating the amazing look for cheap! I seriously LOVE it!
NICE!! I love it all, and I've actually been admiring the Anthro shower curtain for some time. Also, I love that the sheets were slightly different colors. I think it looks boss.
So cute Tracy. I noticed all the cute beach accessories too. You are turning into a real crafter! I love that it has memories added.
Looks great! I'm so proud of you. I can't wait to see it in person next time we trade!
