Cleanse

I have talked about doing the Cabbage Soup Diet/ Cleanse before, but I have had a few people ask me about it since I am doing it again and so I thought i would share it on the blog.

Its only 7 days long and with only putting good things in your body.... you feel great after. At least I do. I know that since the holiday's I have just been feeling kind of crappy. I can  just feel when my body needs a cleanse and it was long over due. Its just hard because I am surrounded by good food all the time. I think its really a good thing to do every once in a while though... and the bonus with this cleanse is that you are supposed to lose up to 10 pounds by the end of the week.

Here is what you do...

Day 1: Eat only fruit, but no banana's. For drinks you can have cranberry juice or unsweetened tea.

Day 2: Eat only Veggies, but no peas or corn. End the day with baked potato with butter.

Day 3: Mix Days 1 & 2.

Day 4: Bananas and milk (up to 8 bananas) and no limit on milk.

Day 5: Beef and Tomatoes (10-20 oz beef & up to 6 tomatoes).  Can substitute beef with chicken or fish.

Day 6: Beef and Veggies, but no potato. You can have 2 or 3 steaks if you want.

Day 7: Brown rice, veggies and unsweetened fruit juices

You can have as much of the Cabbage Soup as you want, but must eat it at least once a day along with at least 4 glasses of water and a vitamin.

What you need for the Cabbage Soup:

Cabbage Soup Recipe

* 6 large green onions
* 2 green peppers
* 1 or 2 cans of diced tomatoes
* 3 carrots
* 1 (10oz) mushrooms
* 1 bunch celery
* 1/2 head of cabbage
* 1 package of Lipton Soup Mix
* 1 or 2 cubes of bouillon
* 1 48oz can of V8 juice
* season with salt, pepper or any seasoning.

Cut up everything and add to pot along with 12 cups of water or 8 cups of water and the V8 juice. Cook for about 3 hours..... yeah.... it takes a while. However, this soup lasts me the whole week.

When I did this a couple weeks ago I actually substituted the Weight Watchers soup because I just can't stand the onion soup. It seemed to work out pretty well.
