Flashback Friday 17

The flashback today takes us back to March 2004. It had finally warmed up in Provo and the trees were starting to bloom. We all got so excited that we wanted to start playing outside. Someone had heard of these hot springs up Spanish Fork Canyon on your way to Price, so a big group of us decided that we were going to go. I heard it was about an hour drive there and then a two mile hike to the hot springs... so we started the journey. We packed two cars of people excited to go to the hot springs. We had made most of the drive and started up the mountain to our destination when...... we ran into a problem. We didn't realize that even though it had warmed up in Provo... that there would still be snow up in the mountains. The guys didn't know how bad the snow would be... and we had driven all this way. They were determined and kept driving..... until the cars got stuck in the snow. To the point where we all had to get out and push the cars back down the hill so that we would be able to get home.

We didn't make it to the hot springs... obviously, but it was pretty funny to try. We still had a fun time... a little disappointed, but still made a good time from the situation.

Note to self... just because the snow is melted down in the valley, doesn't mean that it has melted from the mountains. Lesson learned.

Side note.... on this little outing I drove with a guy (blonde guy with the blue shirt) and he seemed so familiar to me, even though I had never met him before. We went to his and his brother's (tall guy in BYU shirt & white hat) parent's house and saw their family picture on the wall. It was at that moment that I realized why they seemed familiar. I knew their older brother David... who served his mission in Santa Barbara and taught my cousin the discussions. Small world.
