For the past year or so... I have had a bag full of homemade cards. Some that my sister has made for me, some that I made myself at a card making party and some that have been given to me as gifts. One day, as I was looking through my craft blogs... I came across a very cute craft. A box that holds all of your blank homemade cards. Keeps them organized by category. As great as keeping all of my cards in a bag is... I thought it would be better to keep them organized in a cute box instead.
Not only that, but when I saw this, I thought of my mom and sister's. They all have blanks cards stuck in bags... like me. So I thought it would be a great Mother's Day gift for me to give to all of them. We all like homemade gifts after all. Well... I'm busy, and it ended up taking a lot longer to make than I thought it would, so... none of them got it on Mother's Day. But they did get them... that is what matters right?
Jamie got hers first. Only because I was making a trip out to Arizona at the end of May. I actually didn't even end up finishing Jamie's until I was at her house. Here is how Jamie's turned out.
Kristy's, Lori's and my mom's all got finished at the same time, about a week ago. I totally planned on making all of their boxes myself. However, I brought all of the stuff over to my parents house to work on them while we all hung out and everyone saw the stuff and wanted to help. They all ended up doing their own separators and I did the boxes... and then they added whatever they wanted to the boxes. Team effort. I felt bad that I didn't make it all myself, but my sister's said it was better this way. They got to all do a craft together with stuff they didn't have to buy... it turned out exactly the way they wanted it to. So not bad in the end. Here is how all of theirs turned out.
Kristy's (I thought I got a picture of her separators... but I guess I didn't. :(
Lori's
My Mom's
After everyone else's was done.... I decided to work on my own. I finished it a few days ago. Here is how mine turned out.
Since I was already decorating my box... I decided to decorate a couple more that stay on my desk as storage. I really love how it turned out. So many fun ways to use scrapbook paper. :)
