Stickshifts & Safetybelts

Don't laugh at me.... but I had never driven a manual car... until tonight. I am not really sure how it got brought up, but I told Ashley that I had never even tried to drive stick before. She looked at me like I was crazy. It is not that I have never wanted to try... its just that nobody ever taught me. Ashley took that as a fun project for her. She had me take the drivers seat right then and there and taught me how to drive stick.

Thankfully it was late at night so there were not many people on the road. We drove around for 15 or 20 minutes. She told me that I was doing a really good job, but she was laughing at me a lot... so I don't know.  I have been wanting to learn for a long time, so I was really happy that Ashley taught me. She was proud of me... so she made me this...

And you better believe I now have it hung on the fridge next to my Scuba Certification. I am so proud. Thank you Ashley. I feel a little less like a loser now.

Ha! I drove stick for the first time with Dan about a year ago in the school parking lot. I could do it ok, but I just don't enjoy it.
