Today is 11/11/11 and I am posting this at 11:11pm. Does that mean I get some sort of wish or something? No? Well... it is pretty cool all the same.
Today I wanted to flashback to somewhere between 2001 and 2003. I don't remember when exactly it happened... I just remember I was working at Far West back home in Santa Barbara. We worked with this old lady, Alice. Alice loved Dr. Laura and listened to her everyday. She was old and lonely and loved to talk to us young kids and make up stories about her son being taken to prison in Honduras by midgets. We would sometimes try and call her bluff... but she wouldn't have it and would talk even more... so people learned to just smile and nod with Alice. Sometimes people wouldn't even be listening to her at all, they would have their headphones in listening to music while Alice was just chatting away at them not having any idea that they were not even listening. Poor Alice. She was a nice lady, kind of weird, but nice. It is probably no surprise to you that she was a cat lady. She loved and talked about her cats like they were her children. She brought in cat calendars to work for everyone to use and look at. Every month I would look at the picture of the cat and think how creepy it looked. I am already not the biggest cat fan... but I really thought these pictures were creepy. I had voiced that to my friends there and one day I came into work and saw the calendar looking like this.....
Yeah, it creeped me out.

fun times at far west :) i could have never handled that job.
That made me smile. I remember a story that Alice told (like five times in one hour) about saving her family from being run over by a train when she was like three years old. I was so glad I didn't sit next to her. OH what were their names! Kevin and .... ? Anyway the one that is not Kevin totally called her out on her lies and like yelled at her. I had a hard time not exploding that day.
Ha ha ha... I am surprised that I didn't hear that story. The other guys's name was Matt and I do remember him calling Alice's BS more than once. ha ha
Those cats really scare me...haha good idea for making a cat calendar more entertaining....but still scary
