Confessions of a Brunette on the Internet 240

This week I am thankful for my health. I really lucky that I don't get sick very often. I would also like to think that I take care of myself... but I have had a lot of people be sick around me at home and work and friends for the last couple of weeks... and I have not gotten sick and haven't been sick since last winter just for a little bit. I am thankful for that. I love feeling good and I love not feeling crappy. ha ha

Last weekend was just spent watching General Conference. It was great, as usual. I don't have TV... so I was just streaming it from my phone to the Apple TV. There were some technical difficulties along the way... but I'm so glad we have the technology to make it work. It is such a privilege to be able to watch General Conference every 6 months and it always inspires me to want to be better. I'm thankful for General Conference.

Since Quarter end is done, work has been pretty slow. I decided to add something new to the office, a happy board. Basically it is a collage of pictures that I love about my life. I look at it... and it makes me happy. I like it. I will have to take a picture of it and post it here.

The mountains have changed color and it is SO beautiful. Everyday when I'm driving home from work I just stare at them, and love them. It doesn't last long... so you have to appreciate it while it lasts.

How do you feel when someone tells you they were inspired to tell you something. Like... they are receiving personal revelation for you. I got a text saying "Hi, I just felt impressed to tell you to go to Institute" I have no problem is someone feels impressed to tell me something... but don't say it like that. Just say "Hey, want to come to Institute on Wednesday?" I just feel like the way it was presented me said... I'm so spiritual and I'm receiving personal revelation for you. That is all.

I have been thinking about getting a health tracker wrist band. If I had all the info looking at me on my phone... maybe I would be more motivated? I'm not sure. I'm not sold yet. Thinking about it. Now that I am back on the diet... I don't want to keep yo yo dieting... so I need to come up with a plan for when I finish this time around. Maybe this is it? And counting calories as soon as I get off. I hate that I have to try so hard to keep it off. Desk jobs and co-workers that love afternoon snacks doesn't help either.

On Wednesday morning (EARLY) I got up at 4:30am and I watched the lunar eclipse. I was so sad that I missed the one in April that I put in my calendar to remind me of this one. It was a little hazy outside... and I was expecting it to be more red. My picture turned out more red that I saw it. My camera is not ideal for taking pictures at night, but I don't think the fact that it wasn't clear skies helped either. Anyway... I took pictures and this was the best I got. I might try again this next April.... see if it is better.

I just love fall, so many fun things to do! We have so many things planned in just the next couple of weeks. I hope we get to do everything that we have planned! Last night we started watching Halloween movies. We watched Nightmare Before Christmas (which I watch every year) and we watched a scary one we found on Netflix. So many festive fun things to do.

Oh, we had a girls night on Saturday night with my friends Sarah and Lexi and a bunch of other girls that I didn't know. I always love meeting new people and I love girls nights. We went out to dinner and watched a movie and painted nails.

In answer to your question, I don't think anyone has ever told me they were inspired to tell me anything. I think the text you got was poorly worded - even "I keep feeling impressed to invite you to institute. Do you want to come with me?" would have been better. I agree with you that just inviting you without mentioning the impressions would have probably been best; however, I can understand some reasons for wanting to mention it (e.g. if you didn't know the person very well, they might want to explain why they are inviting you out of the blue).

I got up and watched the lunar eclipse too! We had a super clear night and Billy was getting up anyway to leave for a fire to Yosemite at 4am :/
Utah in the fall is super beautiful, enjoy it! Maybe there will still be a little color left at Thanksgiving time?!?!?

I completely understand your reaction to that text. But at least they were thinking about you?

I need girls nights in my life. I should do that.

For a while I had a for bit. I was probably more active when I was using it, but it didn't help my wright. I'm with you, I hate counting calories. I have no answers.
