In 2002 I learned to knit. I learned to knit so that I could knit myself a Harry Potter scarf to where to the theater when the 2nd movie came out. Good reason right? I'm such a dork.
Anyway... once I learned to knit (thanks to my sister Jamie), I was a knitting machine! I was knitting scarves for myself... and then my friends wanted me to knit scarves for them AND THEN the missionaries started wanting me to knit them scarves... and once one missionary had a scarf so did their companion and then one would transfer and the new one would want a scarf. I finally had to stop that trend because that could go on forever and I was buying so much yarn and knitting at Institute and at home and at school (thankfully my professors thought it was awesome because it was a "lost art") and I even got to the point where I could knit without looking and I would sometimes knit while I was in the movie theater. Basically... I was always knitting. What a dork! ha ha. The funny part about it was... we lived in Santa Barbara... none of us really needed scarves.
Here are some of the many scarves that I made for people...

You are amazing! I need to learn that "lost art".
Knitting does not make you a dork. It gives you a great post-apocyliptic skill that will come in handy when you are in rags and need to make yourself a scarf to cover your nakedness.
