Holy cow, it's November! Time goes by so quickly. Once Winter hits though... I'm going to want it to go by fast. I'm not looking forward to the snow.
So, I'm out of town again. Last Thursday I also went out of town for the weekend. I was gone for 3 1/2 days and then I was home for 3 days and now I will be gone for 4 1/2 days. I guess I am making up for not going out of town in August or September. One of the best parts of coming home, is sleeping in my bed. I love my bed so much. When I got out of it this morning, I was so sad to leave it... especially since I got out of bed at 4am.
Let's just talk about my day real quick. I got home from Dave's house after midnight. I had not packed yet. So I had to pack and get ready for my trip. Ended up going to bed around 2am or so just for my alarm to go off at 3:45 so I could get ready and be ready to leave the house at 4:15 to get to the airport by 5:15 to catch my flight that left at 6. I had a layover in Dallas. Landed in Dallas at 9:30 and my next flight was supposed to leave at 11. While waiting to board the plane they announced the plane was out of service and were getting another plane so we would be delayed an hour. An hour later we find out that plane was also out of service so they canceled our flight. Then I had to stand in a long line with a bunch of angry people for the next 45 minutes to book a new flight. I found out the next flight left at 1:10 in a different terminal, so I hopped on the tram to the other terminal and waiting with Stand by. Flight was full. No go. Then I hopped on the tram to another terminal for the next flight that left at 3:40. This plane I actually got on. SUCCESS. Sadly I had a middle seat instead of the window seat I had on my original flight. It was also a bummer that I was stuck in Dallas for 6 hours when I was only supposed to be there for an hour... running around trying to figure out what to do on an hour and a half of sleep. By the time I got to Boston I was so tired, I felt like I had been hit by a bus. I was mentally preparing myself for maybe being stuck in Dallas over night and thought about what I would do if that happened. I remembered my friend Logan lived there and thought it would be fun to see him and was going to text him if I couldn't get a flight out soon. Obviously I didn't do that, but I thought about how thankful I am to have to many friends in so many places that could help me out if I needed it. Anyway, I made it... so I'm happy about that, and excited to explore a new city that I have not been to before.
Since our big Halloween party was on Tuesday, I didn't really have plans on Halloween... which was kind of weird for me. Usually I have Halloween plans. I mean, we had pizza at work, but we never dress up. Trick or treaters came to Novell and went from office to office as they normally do. That was fun for me... so I bought candy to give out just for that. After work Dave invited me over to pass out candy to kids. It was pretty cute actually. He would get so excited every time someone came to the door. He would comment on everyone's costumes and loved teasing the kids. If we went a while without any trick or treaters at the door he would stand outside and watch for kids and yell out that he had candy and to come... one time he even did a jig. It was fun. I don't think I have ever stayed in and handed out candy before.
His roommate (Mr. Karaoke... which when I met Mr. Karaoke I didn't know he and Dave were roommates) was home too and we had a little jam session which was so fun. To prepare for karaoke night which will start back up this month. He is fun to sing with because he has a great voice. He also is an amazing pianist. So we just sang cheesy duets and old classics for a solid hour. I need more of that in my life. I love to sing.
So yeah... that was pretty much my week. Half of it was traveling since all Sunday was in the car coming back from California. Ah... Cali. It was so nice to take a nap on the beach in the warm sunshine. It was 85 degrees while we were there. I miss that already. I think my next vacation needs to be somewhere warm.
I will end with this picture... what my dad puts up with with his grandkids. He sure loves them and they sure love him.

you crazy traveler! have fun! It sure was fun to have you and your roomies visit :)
Sometimes I think you are crazy. :) I hope you had a fun time despite the lack of sleep and crazy flight.
You can visit me... it is still pretty warm here. ;)
I pull all nighters all the time because I can never get anything done in my life. I just pulled one last night, actually. Sometimes you have to sacrifice. But it is horrible.
Dave better watch out... Mr. Karaoke is literally right there waiting for you. (Did you get my song reference?)
