Joshua James Concert

Thursday morning when I got to work, I checked my email. I had an email from the manager over Legal/ Contracts. The email was sent to everyone in the Contracts department that are in the Provo office. He told us that he had free tickets to the Joshua James concert and would be willing to share.

As it turns out, I love Joshua James and so I asked him if I could have a couple of tickets. Most people I have talked to don't know who Joshua James is, but I asked my good friend Allyson if she would go with me and was so happy that she wanted to.

It was just down the street from where I live at the Velour, so Allyson and I decided to go later after we were done with everything we needed to do that night. Show started at 7:30 and there were two opening bands, so we decided to leave around 9:30. I thought we would have missed the first part of Joshua James show, but it turns out that there was a long line to get in in the beginning and the show started late... so by the time we got there, we got to just walk in with our free tickets and then waited a few minutes before he started. It was perfect. Who wants to listen to the opening shows anyway? I usually don't. He played for about an hour and then we left around 11 to go home. I saw the manager that gave me the free tickets there and was able to say hi and thanks for the tickets. I also saw my friend Aileen there and my friend Lance that I was in scuba class with over a year ago. I love running into people I know. Glad to know there are other Joshua James fans out there.

I had never been to the Velour before... which is weird because it is so close to where I live. Turns out, it is quite the Hipster hang out. Who knew. I guess the hipsters love Joshua James too. Anyway, the Velour is a small and interesting place, but I kind of like it...

Don't know who Joshua James is? You can listen to him here. The link is one of my favorite songs of his. He is the mellow folk music that I love. Dave refers to him as "womanly music" like Joshua Radin. Whatever you want to call it, I love it.

It was a fun thing to do Thursday night. I love concerts and Joshua James was awesome live. So glad that I went and glad that Allyson wanted to go with me. One of the things that I love about her is that she is up for anything if she has the time to do it.  Thank you Stirling for the free tickets!
