Underground River
Despite the rest of my travel group, one of the things I really wanted to do while I was on the island of Palawan in the Philippines was float on the underground river. Supposedly it is one of the new wonders of the natural world. I don't know who makes up those lists... but if it made the list, it must be pretty cool right? We went.. and despite the long line for it... it was well worth it in my opinion. We had to take a boat to a different part of the island where we waited in another line before going in the underground river.
While we waited in line to float the underground river... we were entertained by lots of monkey's. I love monkey's. They all just live there in the jungle. Probably just waiting to steal food from the tourists. Ha ha. They are pretty cute. Makes waiting not so bad if you ask me.
Not only is it a beautiful river, but an awesome cave full of bats. The underground river is a little over 5 miles long, but they only take you over maybe a 1/2 mile of it. ha ha. That is enough to tell that it is awesome. All you have in there is a flashlight. At one point they turn it off and it is pitch black in there. I'm so glad that we went and saw it. So awesome. Amazing what incredible places of nature we have on this earth!

I'm trying to decide wether or not I would be terrified. I could see myself going either way, thinking "this is super cool and I'm in awe" or "I'm super afraid of getting stuck in here and I think I can't breathe." I'm glad you didn't experience a typhoon or high tides or a tsunami or a cave in.
